Raintree Gardens

Raintree Gardens is conveniently located in the heart of Matei across from the beach and just steps to two markets, restaurants and an organic ice cream and veggie stand. Guests will have a whole acre of privacy and can enjoy newly renovated accommodations, excellent ocean views and fresh fruits & veggies right from the gardens. Ask us about our homecooked meals delivered to the door, information on tours and activities, and we are happy to provide free transportation to and from the airport! Raintree Gardens is a clean and comfortable 2 bedroom home with two queen size beds, a large complete kitchen, huge covered deck with excellent views and a great location. Guests will have access to the entire property as if it is their own. Fruit trees and gardens are all free to explore and pick from. We do offer brand new two person kayaks for our guests to use free of charge. This makes for a great day trip out to the 4 islands in front of the house. on the third island a beautiful secluded beach makes for the perfect picnic spot and the snorkeling around the island is spectacular! please just let us know ahead of time when you would like the kayaks and we will have them at the beach and ready for you with life jackets and a dry bag (snorkel gear also available to rent if needed). we are just down street in case there is anything at all you may need Matei is a beautiful little beach town with shops and a few restaurants, all within walking distance from the house. Amazing views, white sand beaches, waterfalls and some of the friendliest people on earth all make Taveuni a truly unforgettable experience. The neighborhood is extremely safe and a great place for sunrise and sunset walks along the coast road. Tours and rental cars can be hired to get to world class scuba diving, waterfalls, hikes and natural waterslides and we are more than happy to help arrange these or answer any questions. Walking is a great way to see Matei and to meet the locals around town. Taxis are affordable and very easy to hire, we do provide a list of favorite taxi drivers with their phone contacts in out guidebook as well as tours and excursions. There is also the local bus which services all of Taveuni and is a very affordable option if you have the time. There is also the option to rent a car and we are happy to provide details on that if interested. Taveuni is full of adventure, please feel free to ask us about any activities on the island you may wish to explore (Lavena coastal walk, Bouma falls, natural waterslides, International Date line, Diving the rainbow reef, fishing tours, birdwatching...) we are happy to help with this. Raintree Gardens is located right in the heart of Matei so it's just a couple minutes walk to 2 shops which sell all the basic food items, drinks, and anything else you might need. There is a beach just across the street and we have multiple restaurants all within walking distance. Please keep in mind that Fiji is a very tropical climate so we do have geckos, flies, mosquitoes etc. all over the island. The houses are fully screened in so as long as the screen doors are kept closed these critters should not find their way inside the house. We do rely completely on solar so we do just ask to please turn off fans and lights when they aren't being used to help conserve power.
